Preparation

Preparation comes first

A coating system performs only as well as the concrete under it. Before any coating is applied, the slab is evaluated for moisture, existing coatings, cracks and surface condition, then mechanically prepared, repaired and primed as the selected system requires.

The specific primer, broadcast method, topcoat and cure schedule depend on the product and the manufacturer's specifications, and we follow them.

  • Slab evaluationThe concrete is checked for moisture, existing coatings, cracks and surface condition before anything is specified.
  • Mechanical preparationThe slab is mechanically prepared, repaired and primed as the selected coating system requires.
  • Manufacturer specificationsThe primer, broadcast method, topcoat and cure schedule depend on the product, and we follow the specification.

Metallic Epoxy

Metallic pigments suspended in clear resin, worked while the coat is open to create a flowing, one-of-a-kind pattern. Popular for showrooms, living spaces and garages where appearance is the priority.

Flake Systems

Vinyl color chips broadcast into the base coat and sealed under a clear topcoat. The texture improves traction and helps hide dust and tire marks, which makes it a common choice for working garages and shops.

Solid-Color Coatings

A single uniform color sealed under a clear topcoat for a clean, bright, easy-to-maintain surface in garages, utility spaces and commercial areas.

What to expect

How a coating project runs

Coating performance depends on the product, the substrate condition, the preparation and the maintenance, so we recommend the system that fits how the floor will actually be used.

Walkthrough and written estimate

We look at the slab and the space, discuss the options, and provide a clear written scope and price.

Removal of any existing coating

Existing coatings or flooring are removed or fully prepared before the new system is specified.

Surface preparation and repair

The concrete is mechanically prepared, cracks and joints are repaired, and the slab is primed as the system requires.

Installation of the specified system

The coating is installed to the manufacturer's specifications for that product.

Cure time before traffic

The floor is left to cure on the manufacturer's schedule before it takes foot traffic or vehicles.

Final walkthrough

We review the completed work with you and provide care and cleaning guidance for the system installed.

Cure and care

Cure time depends on the system

Light foot traffic is typically possible after about 24 hours and vehicles after several days, and the cure schedule published by the manufacturer of the specified product is what we follow. Care and cleaning guidance is provided for the system installed.
